Waste Heat Recovery challenge is closed now.

The Facility for Low Carbon Technology Deployment (FLCTD) project, implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is launching the 2018 Innovation challenge in Space Conditioning Vertical. The broad aim of the FLCTD project is to:
Create a community that links researchers to industry partners, small businesses, innovators and end-users to hasten the market transformation curve of energy efficient technologies leading towards sustainability.
Entries are invited to identify the promising innovations in the areas described below, which can be deployed to address technology gaps and increase energy efficiency in these areas. The total award money for FLCTD Innovation Challenge 2018 in the Waste Heat Recovery is US $200,000.
The Challenge is open for innovations in the following technology areas:
  • The Challenge is open for Waste Heat Recovery technology innovations across all industrial sectors
  • The innovation should reduce energy wastage in the process or utilities
  • Innovations are expected to demonstrate:

Emerging and novel technologies with higher efficiency gain

Improvement in existing technologies that maximize energy recovery, overcome application constraints, and improve economic feasibility

Heat recovery from untapped/un-utilized sources of heat

Heat recovery from temperature ranges: 600° Celsius and below
